From a double magnum decanted into 4 750ml bottles. Even better than the first bottle. Nose of barnyard, damp earth, roasted coffee grounds, sweet and sour fruit, and floral aged Pinot Noir, same on the palate, very tasty, mouth filling fruit, age really helped here as the bouquet gave way to the palate with a long, long, lovely flavorful finish and aftertaste.

Nose of mint, roasted black berry tarts, black currants, earth, chocolate, and lovely, rich cabernet fruit, same on the palate, big body, fruit forward, smooth, lovely, long finish, and a lovely aftertaste, wonder where the tannins were today (?), guess it needs 8 years to peak. Right after the 2012 Insignia pour this killed it.

Joseph Phelps Vineyards Spring Release Event (Joseph Phelps Vineyards, Napa Valley): A pleasant surprise, lovely citrus nose with honeydew melon, medium body, very tasty, moth filling fruit, elegant, savory, medium/long finish and lovely aftertaste. I was impressed until the $185 bottle price. Aubert, Kistler, and most Premier Cru White Burgundy are half the price and equal or better tasting.

Lovely allspice with hints of orange zest and sweet California Oak, ageing in the backyard for this winter's fire, followed by caramel found in Ghirardelli caramel milk chocolate, then a solid touch of heat in the throat that finishes in gently but definitely warming your chest and stomach, this has enough of everything for me without being too much, very tasty, and an aftertaste of caramel and spice making you want to enjoy another sip.
