3/1/18, 6:51 AM - I don't see why not - it actually tasted really intact on day two, which is always a great indicator for ageability. And 6 years is nothing on a central otago pinot. Let us know how it goes!
11/2/17, 3:48 AM - thebatcavewines, it was part of a tasting session consisting of 45 wines, so there was no time to 'get acquainted' with the wine, so it wouldn't be right for me to score it. To be fair though, the notes here are certainly spot-on for a barossa shiraz, unfortunately drunk far too young.
3/13/17, 10:07 PM - thanks, glad it was helpful!
12/31/16, 4:18 PM - Unfortunately, no.
2/16/16, 4:32 AM - Not Lake Brunner, unfortunately (I did drive past though - stunning area!). "Brunner" is a slow brunch-turns-into-dinner thing I do with my wino-friends on long lazy weekends!
10/3/15, 1:18 PM - Yes, I've also a half-case put away...
6/1/14, 3:58 AM - startinoz, you're probably right - it might very well have just been popped and poured that night, given the context, and quite possibly shipped in just for the event.
6/1/14, 9:58 AM - I agree! I get the impression that there's been a Oz-wide trend towards early drinkability for these big guns, which may account for a thinner-than-expected showing in infancy. Hmmm.
6/9/14, 7:49 PM - Many thanks, Startinoz! I'll add a caveat to my tasting note, and hopefully I'll get to taste another bottle soon, properly decanted and all. Cheers!
5/2/14, 1:14 AM - indeed! silly maccas.
5/2/14, 2:07 AM - haha - yes, now we're just exposing our dark secret pasts. =)
1/28/13, 5:11 AM - Resealed, and forgotten in the back of the fridge! It was half-full...
