Good mid week quaffer. Nothing special. But nothing bad about this wine either. Not the greatest QPR

What a great wine for the money. Although I seem to love any wine by Mark Herold.

I've always liked this vineyard. This is nice wine, especially considering the vintage.

This Steltzner is becoming one of my favs in the Myriad line up of wines. Only let it breath about 45 mins. Ran through a Aervana airator and this wine was open for business. Delicious.

All delicious fruit. But unfortunately not enough tannic structure to support. This wine needs a few years for the fruit to fade some and to hopefully allow it to gain better balance

Really nice Chardonnay. Tropical notes for sure. Not on the buttery spectrum. But enough oak to make it pleasant on it's own. Really good with food as it has nice acidity.

Very young and primary at this stage. Give these more time.

Spectacular wine. The multiple 100 ratings from the wine pros on this wine are justified. Solid on all levels. If you like big Napa new world fruit bombs that are not only big but also nuanced and balanced, this is you wine.

2 hour decant. Consumed over 4 hours. The fruit on this was more refrained than I was expecting. Definitely not as big or fruit upfront as compared to other years of Carter OG I have had. But it still has that signature To Kalon nose and mouthfeel that I love. Medium long finish. Will try to wait a few years before revisiting.

Summed up well by AGELVIS below. Good Chardonnay to have with food as it has good acidity.

Meh. Nothing special. Think I saw Moon Mountain and I was hoping for Kamen. Perhaps a little time laying down will help.

Didnt show quite as well as last few bottles of these. Perhaps entering a dumb phase? Time will tell.

Not rating as this was a weird one. Very nice deep dark juicy berry flavor - perhaps a bit too sweet if I were to say anything negagtive about the front end. This wine also had nice heft/viscosity/mouthfeel. But unfortunately, this wine was REALLY lacking on the finish - especially for a wine from this vineyard and at this price point. I mean there was like NO finish. Made me feel like I was drinking fruit juice. Front End / Mid palate I would rate a 94. Finish - 87

I saw that the '22's of this wine just got a 95 rating from WS so decided to pop a bottle. I am not ususally a Sauv Blanc guy - but I love this wine. Wonderful tropical fruits, banana and vanilla. None of the grassy flavors that New Zealand versions tend to have (that is not my preference). Excellent. This is a Chardonnay lovers kind of Sauv Blanc

Best descriptor for this I can think if is: Bright. This is a not a big boy cab that you eat with a steak on a weekend. Bright fruit (cranberry with a little plum) with medium weight/mouthfeel, yet still nuanced. Goes great with cheese. Cannot find many Napa quality wines at this price point. A pleasure to drink.

Not sure what to think on this one. This is one of the first 2021's I have from Mike where I felt that it was way too early to drink (compared to Myriad and even the Q Kenefick) . This wine tighter than a gnat's arse right now. Not rating as a result as even after 4 hours it was still not showing great. I think the potential is there. But I will wait at least 6 mos before revisiting any of my other bottles.

My first of the 2021 vintage. I was a huge fan of the 2019 vintage. This is a good wine but needs a little more time laying down. There is a lot of oak/vanilla that needs to settle down and which should integrate better over time with the big and juicy (mostly black) fruit. 91 points now plus 1 point for QBR with upside potential. I have a case of this and will enjoy seeing how it evolves over time. Hard to find many Napa Cabs of this quality at this price point.

This wine is fantastic. This was a PnP. Really hit it's stride at the 2-hour mark. Its going to be difficult to keep my hands off my remaining stash. That being said, i think this will continue to get better with a little more time laying down as noted by BadMonkey below.

Solid. Recommend a PnP as by the 4 hour mark, this was starting to fade a little.

I am going to hold off rating. But I would give it an 87 rating at this point if I did. I am a huge fan of both Kinsella and TRB. But this wine tasted very artificial and fabricated. Did they add a lot of Mega Purple? Because even the color of this wine was a little unnatural. I am hopeful that these either just need a lot more time to come together or that this was an off bottle (as I have about 10 more bottles of this to drink). Hopeful they will improve.

This wine was amaze-balls! Such purity of fruit. Such depth, nuance and layers of flavors. Mostly blue fruit with a hint of saline and minerals in the background. Excellent viscosity/mouthfeel with a long smooth finish. Just outstanding all the way around. Santa Barbara fruit is coming into it's own

The '18s in general have been the most stubborn vintage I can remember - especially based on all the hype - and these Myriad NV are no exception. They are finally settling down and coming together. Mike Smith used to always say "drink the NV in first 5 years while you are waiting for the single vineyard bottlings to age a little". Well these are just getting into their drinking window at the 6 year mark. Better late than never.

Great QPR on this wine. It is excellent. But sadly my last bottle. I am looking foward to trying the 2021 vintage (trying to let those lay down a little while longer more before popping one).

Not showing as well as last time (when I rated 96) - but still a very good wine. Gave 3 hours of air before consuming. This wine, like several other '19s I have tried, seems to have closed down a little. I will wait a few years before consuming my last bottle. ( I Should have listened to Michigan Dogs!)

Good wine. But halfway through the bottle, we unfortunately got this thick mouth coating like perhaps Mega Purple (too much) was added and the wine started tasting artifical. 93 for first half of bottle and 91 for second half of the bottle.

I seem to find that Christmas Eve is a good time to revert to opening a botle of Special Select. It is always a crowd pleaser. Yes, its over the top - do they actually put chocolate syrup in it? :-) Great mouthfeel. Always slides down the ole pie-hole effortlessly. Would not open for my wine snob friends, but the family ALWAYS love it. It is what it is.

Drank beside a '18 Kamen. Both were equally as good. I have always liked Herold's winemaking style.

My first bottle of any of The Debate wines. We were all disappointed. Not sure if this was just an off bottle. But this was very tart and uninteresting. Feeling was the same for all 6 people that had a glass. You have to expect more at this price point. Most disappointing bottle of Christmas Eve wine lineup.

I rated the 2012 Estate in non-etched bottle a 94 a few years ago. This one was unfortunately past it's prime. The fruit was muted and starting to fade. Hung on to it too long as the bottle was just too prettyto open it. If rating, I would give it a 90.

Not quite as good as the 2018 vintage at this stage. Still a good bottle of wine at the $55/btl price I found. Definitely more in the Bourdeaux style vs being a rich Napa cab.

Not quite as good as the 2018s - at least not yet (Lewis was one of my "go-to" wines from '18 for all of Napa). But I think this will improve with time and will climb to a 94 or 95. My conviction with the upside potential is enough that I just ordered another case. This bottle was a pop and pour. I would recommend a decent decant at this point. Signature black bottomed cork. All dark fruits. Great depth. Just needs some more time.

Found these on line. I was not familar with the label. But very familar with BS Georges III vineyard and seeing fruit from there at this price point ($75)...well I had to give it a try. The old saying, if it seems to good to be true than it probably is applies here. I know in Napa, it all starts with quality fruit, but this goes to show it is also important as to the rest of the process. This was all fruit - just a gooey mess. If tasting blind, I would have thought a $20 bottle

Drank following a 2013 Schrader LPV and this was the preffered wine by all. What a great vintage of Lewis this has been! I bought 3 cases and am unfortinately down to my last 6. Now that Lewis has been sold, I hope the quality of this wine and price points remain the same. I know that Randy Lewis is staying on board at least for the time being.
