this wine is too fruit forward and has too much vanilla coating on the finish. seems to be too tailored towards the average American wine consumer -- a weird mixture of fruity red wine & buttery/oaky/vanilla-y chardonnay. otherwise the underlying structure would have been pretty good.

Pretty good but drank it after the 91 Insignia. Probably not smart on my side. Brick in color, felt like it needed a few more years in the cellar to complete blend in the tannins. Cherry and licorice flavors.

Outstanding. Smooth as silk with a velvety finish. Tannins are all integrated with lots of berry and dried fruit flavors. The only thing lacking was the nose. Otherwise amazing.

It was much smoother and less tannic then. Drank it with pizza. I suspect would be much better with a heartier dish -- like beef stew.
