I liked it. The mobile app made me say something. Sorry for being unhelpful.

Crisp, tart, bright apple fruit. If I tasted blind, I might have mistaken it for a sauvignon blanc. I like a crisp non-buttery chardonnay, but this lacked the depth that I expect from a good chard. Still pleasant. 88-89.

Nice fruit, but extremely soft to the point of having virtually no tannins. Not much complexity either. Medium-short finish. I'm thinking this would have been a lot better 7-10 years ago. It is nice to drink a 12.5% alcohol red wine though.

9/14/19, 4:50 AM - I have had old wine that was amazing, though I don't drink it often. Six months ago I had a 1999 Barolo that was superb. Three years ago I thoroughly enjoyed a 1993 Napa Howell Mountain cabernet. My experience with the Duhart-Milon was that this bottle had nothing left. It was OK, but disappointing. I feel that if I had opened it more in its youth, I would have enjoyed it more.

Nice fruit. Classic Dry Creek zin profile. I might have gone a point higher in the code but the price I paid at the tasting room was significantly higher that I could have paid elsewhere.

11/10/17, 12:49 PM - I did not say it was an 89 but I was giving it an 88 because it wasn't a good value. I said it MIGHT be an 89. I don't do double blind tastings. Everything that I know about a wine and my experience with it goes into my opinion of the wine. Sometimes my experience with a wine increases my opinion of it, sometimes vice versa. That's why comments that explain an opinion are more valuable than just a score. I get that intrinsically a score should be about the wine, but if I'm on the edge of two scores, the other stuff breaks the tie. If I paid twice as much as everybody else and I know it, it puts me in a poor frame of mind to start. Nothing I can do about it. That creates a bias. At least I'm telling you why and admitting that under different circumstances I may have felt differently.

Drank half from Coravin; finished four days later. Really dark fruit with nice finish. Full bodied. 90-91, but I'm rounding up because of the value.

4/23/17, 4:45 AM - You guys know what a steal the North Coast Syrah is - they could easily charge $30. I don't get that many bottles. I knew I would only have two glasses on Monday and would be out of town until Friday. So if I used $1.25 in argon to keep the remainder fresh until I got home - what's the crime in that? It's totally worth it to me. Pouring out really good wine that was left to wither would be a much greater crime.

4/23/17, 10:29 AM - No harm no foul. I wrote my response before my first cup of coffee this morning. :-) I also feel like I don't use my Coravin enough since I got it for my birthday five months ago, so I look for opportunities. I got a good deal on cartridges during a Christmas sale - $15 for a 2-pack, so I bought five packs (to qualify for free shipping). I have to say my first reaction was that you must not have known how good Bedrock wines are, but then I checked your tasting notes and clearly you do.
