This wine has legs well beyond 2022. Purple NA opaque with long legs. Fruit forward nose that is rich with dark fruit, currant, tobacco, and bell pepper. The palate with consistent and very well balanced with a generous mouthfeel. This wine is showing very well. 5+13+17+8=93

Purple and opaque right to the edge of the glass. The wine has long legs and looks viscous to the eye. Intense blue and black fruit on the nose that’s punctuated with blueberries, ripe plumbs and cranberries. There is more heat on the palate than I expected given the bottle age. The palate is more muddled blue and black fruit than the nose. Big mouthfeel, with balanced acidity and blueberry finish. A consistent treat year after year. 5+13+16+8=92

First of six bottles and this was a pleasant suprise. The wine is purple and opaque with the thinnest crimson edge. Earthy and dark fruit nose with understated herbal and leather tones. The red and black fruit on a surprisingly elegant palate. The finish is inky dark fruit. The mouthfeel is excellent with velvety tannins, fading acidity but nice balance. 5+12+16+8=92

If I didn’t know, I’d guess this was a heartier varietal than cab franc. Visually inky purple, and opaque with long legs. Stemmy green nose with some blue and red fruit notes. Solid acidity, medium mouthfeel, some minerality, and red fruit finish. I like it. Would drink again but wouldn’t go out of my to find it. 5+12+16+7=90

Purple/Crimson with a transparent edge. Much higher viscosity than I’d expect given the alcohol content. Long legs. Nose is red fruit, cured meat, and some earthy notes that I find more common in Bordeaux wines. Palate is tart red fruit and a fairly tannic finish. There is good balance and generous mouthfeel that’s my favourite characteristic of this wine. I enjoyed it, this was my fourth and last bottle. One the fence about grabbing more as a Sangiovese side car for pasta plates. 5+12+16+7=90

This is a spectacular wine at this price point, especially given its youth. Purple and opaque with a red brick edge. Red fruit and white pepper dominate the nose and palate. While Syrah is only blended at a half proportion to the Cab and Merlot, it dominate the nose and palate and relegates the floral and tobacco to secondary notes. The finish is red fruit. 5+13+16+8=92

The wine tastes much younger than it’s fourteen years suggests. Purple and opaque. Rich dark red and blue fruit on the nose that is dominated by black plum, currant and cassis. A pleasure. Purple and opaque it’s inkier than I’d expect for a merlot. The nose is red and blue fruit forward and not very floral. Maybe a hint of vanilla and some subtle eucalyptus on the nose. The palate is round red fruit, with understated acidity and blue fruit finish. The acidity is balance but less tannic than expected. 5+12+16+8=91
