Excellent and in a great place right now. Tried this next to the 2014 PYCM version of same wine. This wine is slightly leaner, minerality coming through nicely. Both are great and hard to pick a fav orite. Does not seem to be fading or oxidizing, but no reason to wait on enjoying this wine.

This bottle was in a great place. Very gracefully aged. Would not wait any longer as it seems at end of drinking window but still close to peak. My favorite bottle yet of this. Slightly golden in color with classic mature leflaive reduction but a pretty lush palate with hazelnut and brioche.

This is definitely fully mature and doesn’t seem suited for longer aging. Need to try a magnum and see if it’s a bit fresher Still very enjoyable with classic CdP mature flavor profile A bit musty on the nose, very transparent light brick red with a touch of haze. This did open up over 3 hours in open bottle then glass and is a pleasure to drink.

Excellent mid weight Rhône clone. Very light in color and somewhat reminiscent of a Vaucluse wine. Strawberry and spice… very elegant and in a good place right now.

Another excellent showing of this wine. Very feminine and elegant, along the lines of a Chateau des Tours with red fruit and some spice notes. Great now but no hurry on this.

SOAC dinner at BCN served with rabbit. 100% Grenache from i0+ year old vines. Bought this on release. The color is still more purple but starting to see so,e bricking and not as inky as last tasting. On the nose and palate this is ripe bordering on overripe but really enjoyable with deep rich cassis amd black cherry notes and a long finish. With loads of fruit on the mid palate amd a long finish, this seems like it could continue to age gracefully and become more elegant. Good now but no rush to enjoy now. 94+

No notes at the time but from memory a very nice Rhône blend with no hard edges and in the early stages of its drinking window with room to evolve and become more complex. 93+

I also agree with prior notes on this wine. Very nice southern Rhône nose and flavors with a pleasant medium to light body. “Charvin-light”.

Very young looking pale yellow, with fresh nose and clean balanced mineral and stone fruit flavors and a very nice subtle oak overtone. Really nice and youthful Saint Aubin

pours a rich golden yellow with nose of butterscotch and citrus. Somewhat oily rich texture and flavors of honeyed orange and minerals and a medium finish. No sign of decline and drinking very well now.

Popped and poured. Still inky and a rich deep purple with great nose of white pepper, dark black and blue berries and violets. At first quite big and powerful but not heavy, and just got better and better as the night went on. On the palate, blueberry, blackberry, white pepper, cassis and spice with a very long great finish. This has great balance and the last sip was the best. Pretty much no doubt that this has upside from here and will be great for well more than a decade. Good now but no rush to enjoy..

After opening one last night that was advanced, it was great to open a fantastic bottle at dinner tonight. In the glass, a rich golden color showing some development and a nose somewhere between what you'd expect from CdP Blanc and white Burgundy, with a touch of petrol mixed in. On the palate, oxidative notes, rich slightly oily and textured with some mineral and rich tropical fruit flavors and a long finish. This bottle was singing.

Opened a bottle purchased on release and stored well since then, and was surprised to find that there had been a bit of refermentation- this bottle had a slight "spritz" to it. After an aggressive decant and some time it settled down and was a very nice Reservee, with garrigue, red and dark berry fruit flavors and a plush mid-palate, somewhat luscious-in-texture. This wine has years ahead of it and is a great wine. Hoping the referment was an aberration and was interested not to see any other notes on that here.

This bottle, purchased on release, showed nice balance and no over-ripe, or port-like notes. A really nice classic CdP with a balance of red and black fruits and a touch of garrigue. in the heart of a drinking window that seems to have plenty of room left. Would have scored even higher if there was more complexity but nice nose, richness and solid finish.

Wow, this was an excellent showing. The 100% Grenache really comes through with very red-fruit driven nose and flavors of red berries and cassis. Not at all over-ripe, and in a great place for drinking now with upside potential and likely won't decile for easily another decade.

Another great bottle of this wine. Inky purple with a subtle nose of tapenade, licorice and cassis this wine is big and rich on the palate but not overbearing..dark berry fruit and a nice fairly long finish. This is on the young side. Very nice but many years of life and evolution. Great wine!

Slightly darker in color than the 2010 Maven with darker fruit profile likely from the Cav Sauv component. While the Maven seems ready to drink up, this might still improve and certainly has years ahead of it.

Opaque purple, big nose of mint, licorice and leather and silky rich palate of eucalyptus, blueberry and cassis. This really improved with time in the bottle, gaining elegance and smoothing out. Long finish. A bit over the top but very enjoyable. Doesn't seem like it will improve but will likely hold here for a good while.

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: The final wine in a retrospective of 18 Chateauneuf-Du-Pape wines from the 2007 vintage. All wines double decanted several hours prior to tasting. This is 100% old vine Grenache. In an evening full of extraordinary wines, this stood out. Dark in color, with a great and robust nose of black fruits and tapenade. Very full bodied with deep rich flavors of dark fruit, licorice, leather and spices. This wine has a big and long finish and I wrote a "Wow!!" to start my notes. Indeed a very big wine and probably perfectly suited for the small pour and standing out amongst slightly less weighty wines, but it had a nice freshness and balance despite being huge. This is a unique and special bottle of CdP. It will likely drink well for decades too.

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: Wine number 17 of 18 in a 2007 CdPape retrospective. All wines double decanted several hours before tasting. Unfortunately didn't get notes on this wine but wrote down a score of 97 and the comment "very well balanced". It was in a flight with Bonneau, Pegau Cuvee da Capo and Usseglio "Not For You", and after 14 other great wines, which might sort of explain the lack of focus here!

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: This was wine number 16 of 18 wines in a 2007 CdP retrospective. All wines were doible decanted a few hours before tasting. Wonderful classic rustic Pegau nose of brambly red fruits, new saddle leather and spices and full bodied but not over extracted at all, great flavors of dark berries, licorice and black pepper and great, long finish. One of the more impressive wines in a stellar line-up of wines. This will likely drink well for 20 more years but great now.

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: #15 of 18 2007 CdPapes and one of the most striking, racy wines of the night. Dark ruby in the glass with big perfumed nose of cherries and cassis. Full bodied, silky and rich on the palate with flavors of kirsch liquer, licorice and new saddle leather. The finish is long and silky. This is a wow wine that might gain some elegance with more age but is very fun to drink right now.

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: #14 out of 18 CdP in a 2007 retrospective. Excellent Hommage with still dark ruby color, great perfumed nose and intense rich black cherry, licorice and garrigue flavors in a very elegant frame. Long finish. This is a great wine but for me this bottle was a step behind the 1998 vintage by a bit.

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: 13 out of 18 2007 CdP in a great tasting. This wine stood out in a great lineup with a deeo garnet color, great spicy red fruit nose and smooth and elegant on the palate with red and black berry fruit, cherry and garrigue and a silky long finish. Youthful with some tannic edge left but great now and for years to come, no doubt.

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: Wine number 9 out of 18 in 2007 CdPape retrospective. THis one was hard to assess. Great color but a reductive nose bordering on va.. A big wine with lots of dark fruits and spice. My guess/hope is other bottles will show even better though and it was hard with the muted nose to stand up around many other great 2007s

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: Wine number 8 of 18 in a 2007 CdPape retrospective. First word in TN is "wow". Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: Number 5 of 18 wines in a 2007 CdP horizontal. Fresh perfumed rich dark fruit nose. Fresh and silky on the palate with flavors of cassis and spice in great balance with a long finish. This is big and concentrated but not pruned or overdone. It is still very young and likely to soften and improve. Really nice now and long future.

It had been several years since last checking n on the 2007 Reservee. Last time it seemed slightly closed and with room to improve. Wow, it is fantastic now. Still ruby red but not opaque, with some pink at the rim, this bottle tasted like it's hitting the early side of full maturity. (benefitted from a long decant) Nose of garrigue, new saddle leather, blackberry and forest floor. Clean flavors of kirsch liqueur, tea leaves, pepper and spices. Tannins have really softened but still with good structure and long finish. Elegant, with zero overripe notes. No reason to wait any longer but should hold for many years.

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: This was the fourth wine of an 18 wine horizontal of 2007 CdPape. Bought on release. My TN starts with "wow"- beautiful perfumed nose of sweet berry fruit and cassis and silky flavors of blueberry, blackberry, cassis and spice. Long and pure finish. This is fantastic now but may improve and will certainly last easily hold for 15 years plus.

I noted that is was slightly lighter bodied than average of this heavy hitter group and nice red fruit nose and flavors. In a good place but still youthful.

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: This was the second wine of an 18 wine horizontal of 2007 CdPape. Perfumed nose of dark berry fruit and garrigue, great balance on palate with flavors of cassis and dark berry that is fresh and elegant. Not over ripe or extracted. An elegant full bodied wine with a nice finish. Enjoyable now but may still have a bit of room to improve.

Chateauneuf-Du Pape, The 2007 Vintage, A 10 Year Retrospective: This was the first wine of an 18 wine horizontal of 2007 CdPape. Still ruby red, no bricking. Nice spicy/peppery forest floor nose, rustic but fresh clean flavors of black cherry, licorice and black pepper. Drinking well but with many good years ahead. More or less middle of the pack of the 18 2007s

This wine has a very clean, burgundian nose and flavor profile. Good structure and balance of minerality and toasty richness. Very nice now and seems like might improve/soften/gain complexity with a bit of age.
