This was a moment! Lovely fresh and vital still. Red berries, earth and complexity. Layers of magic.

Love this wine. Absolutely stunning. Quite Monfortino like with its pink generic color and elegance. Super wine!

Absolutely stunning barbaresco. Super fine elegance with red berries. Vey feminine in style and I find it quite burgundian.

Beautiful elegant and lovely wine with small nice red berries and the orange, licorice and a bit of truffle. Generic. Nice.

Very fine with dark ruby fruit. It is such a baby still and will gain a lot with at least a couple of more years in the cellar. There is a power that has been let out yet. It is 07 like even if I find it not as flabby as some 07´s. Good wine.

I was fooled to believe this was a burgundy. A top burgundy actually. A top effort from this great producer. Elegant and packed with big citrus fruit and white flowers.

Exceptional wine with a stunning power and length. Packed with citrus fruit and minerals. The aftertaste goes on forever. It was against Domaine Leflaive´s Chevalier-Montrachet from the same vintage. The wines were very different and while the chevy was elegant and pure this was more power and maybe less sharp but very very complex and special. I love this wine.

What a fantastic wine. Pure class through and through. Very intense citrus fruit with lovely minerals and so elegant and sharp. Roses and white flowers. A stunner to the magnificent halibut with butter and lemon.

Absolutely stunning champagne. Long time since I had this wine but due to the fact that I had a fab 96 Oenoteque last week I wanted to try this now as well and strangely enough this feels younger and less developed. It was great when released but now it has taken the direction people in the know expected it to do. Towards greatness. Nothing less.

Long time since I had these bubbles and from being sharp and closed it now was almost fully developed. Hard to say if it is a phase. There are many 96´s going this direction right now. There are some being extremely sharp and complex but a lot are falling apart. Is it just a phase? Time will tell.

This is a producer I rate very highly. Unfortunately this did not deliver what was expected. Could have been something wrong with it. A lot of basement tones with a raw green tone.

This might be the first time I really appreciated a Clos de la Barre or I think I have had this before and appreciated it then as well. So this is my fave vintage of this wine of the ones I have been drinking so far. It is now lovely with a lot of yellow fat fruit. Very good village quality.

I think this was close to Grand Cru quality. Very nice complex wine with citrus, exotic fruit and it is also a bit "fat" in the texture. Like it a lot!

This is so good. Typical Dom Perignon nose with its roasted coffee and sweet berries. This is the best oenteque I have ever had I think. It is actually better than the normal vintage was I think. I will open one of them still stocked in my cellar to see how they are developing. Top champagne!!!

Against village from Coche and a 1er Cru from A Jobard and came out as nr 3. A lot of burned rubber and the 08 freshness was not there. I rarely get excited about this appelation and its the same this vintage.

A bit disappointed actually. This domaine always deliver so well. This time however it is a bit heavy on the oak I feel. Not a great structured wine. Decent of course but expectations are always very high when drinking this domaine.

Very fine and smooth texture. Lovely black currant and also some orange and cherries. Nice length. They say the 82´s have reached their peak. I cannot say they have after tasting 3 very young 82´s this evening. Decanted for close to 4 hours though. Great wine.

I have had this at least 5-6 times and it always blows me away. This time it did come in as the winner competing against 82 Leoville Les Cases and 82 Chateau Margaux. Absolutely lovely with its silky and elegant texture and its lovely fruit of black currant and cherries. A big wine with many more years to go.

3,5 hours in the decanter and it did not show much more than green veggie tones but after another hour or so it started to show nice black currant and typical Leoville style. For me this is not one of the bigger 82´s. It lacks the structure but it might turn around. It is still just a baby.
