Very surprised. Totally different than prior tasting.

Returned half bottle back to the bottle and after 1 day then refiltered and decanted. No difference. 🫤

Follow-up :: pulled vacuum and stored in fridge for a couple of days. Palate improved substantially. Tartness and sweetness balanced out very nicely.

Grapes sourced from Elgin and Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. Grapes whole bunch pressed then cold settled for a couple of days then fermented in 4th fill French oak then left on fine lees in barrels for 9 months. No malolactic fermentation . Quite bold canary color, notes of baked bread and apricots on the nose. Very crisp, well balanced, nice fruit as well as earthy notes.

Napa Valley Visit May23; 5/1/2023-5/4/2023 (Napa Valley): Tasted at dinner. No extensive tasting notes. Well matched with roasted meat as well as pizza. Unique blend 75% sangiovese, 17% cab sauv, 8% Merlot. Aged 24 mo in French and Hungarian oak.
