Cloudy yellow hue
The nose is characterized by stone fruit, namely white peach and apricot. Additionally a citrus note is present.
On the palate, quite intense citrus notes of lemon and tangerine. Chalk and a lively acidity on the finish (M length)
M+ body for a white with a good concentration

Light reddish in color.

Sweet nose and light to medium in body.

Dry on the palate with medium plus acidity.

Showing red cherries, spices, light earth and black pepper.

A good entry level wine from this winery. Easy drinking and good for food.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

87 Points.

In these warmer years , nice to find a Chablis that still tastes and is structured like most people’s perception of Chablis. Fresh stony nose with some light honey, acacia flowers and oyster shell. Mid weight palate, lots of finesse, maybe some warmer white peach tones but kept well under control by crisp acidity. Long finish. Very impressive

Somewhat saucy label that doesn't show the producer's name on the front, requiring one to read the back to find it. A very nice warm light orange color from this all-pinot noir wine. Quite bold and bracing with stone fruit and high acidity. From the Champagne de Vignerons fold.

The new edition of Subtil is finally here!

100% Grand Cru Chardonnay and this "Tirage 2013" was bottled and put in the cellar in 2013. It is made with a "Soléra", or "perpetual reserve", and is made in small 114-litre oak barrels. This edition is Brut Nature!!!

Such a bright and beautiful golden color, and the aromas in the nose are so powerful right from the beginning. Bruised apple, baked apple pie, ripe citrus fruits, candied lemon, some slight touch of tropical fruits and a lovely blend of oak, vanilla and brioche together with this intense freshness!

The palate is just incredibly balanced and complex with a depth and power from the perpetual reserve, oak and long aging while also having so much freshness and acidity from the Chardonnay...
Green apple, green pear, citrus fruits and white peach lay the fresh and intense base - while oak, windfalls, toasted brioche, candied lemon, mushroom, vanilla and pineapple really bind it all together.
No dosage to interfere with the perfect balance that it delivers on its own!

This has been open in the bottle for a full 24 hours. Not quite as enjoyable as previous bottles. Unpleasant green/ vegetal element mas both nose and mouth. Bad bottle? In any case, not rating this.

PNP at Kuki’o. Pale yellow. Faint aromas of citrus, fennel and white flowers. Not showing much sea brine tonight. Broad and sappy mouthfeel, with a slightly chalky finish. Still young.

Drank from a magnum - previous bottles had been halves, and there is an obvious difference. Still very youthful, only just entering its drinking window, with a very long life ahead of it.
Cranberry and blackberry on the nose, then a blend of blackberry and blackcurrant, very suave and velvety, perhaps a little rich for my palate, but not too much, just very enjoyable and the crowd loved it. Later in the evening, a little plum sauntered across the glass, giving it a Pomerol feel.
Incredible value: 24 euros for the magnum - yes, you read that correctly.

One of my bankers over the last year, it combines 2021 freshness with enough butter and lemon flavours to keep it interesting. Oddly enough, but good news for my wallet, I actually preferred it to the Blagny Meursault 1er Cru 2017 costing three times more.

Nice Crozes, good fresh fruit upfront. Good body, elegant finish with silky tannins. Not as exhuberant as the Combier cuvée Laurent from the same year (that is almost OTT). A bit more classical, pure and well-made. Good QPR.

A bit pinched a somewhat leaner than I expected in this warm year. Maybe a good whack of SO2 as well. PnP, opened up a little bit over the course of one hour. Maybe give it another year if you have some.

Tasted side by side with the Margaret River Cab. Much, much lighter and more floral than its counterpart. Still a sold tannic structure and really nice acidity, but more delicate style for sure.

Typical McLaren Vale Cab Sav in a way. Dense with dark berries and definite anise notes. Nice mouthfeel, Rick and smooth, with fine tannins. Opened nicely after about half an hour.

That was relatively a disappointment. Stewed fruit and rather imbalanced for what you would expect. I expected more to be honest.

Deep ruby in the glass. Green-black fruit nose here. Medium-bodied, structure a bit out of sync due to the youth, tannins unripe and coarse. Nice potential here, reminds me slightly of Margaux with a WA touch.

This is a blend of Mavrotragano with limnio. Fragrant bouquet with red and darker cherries, mineral in a background of dried herbs, sweet spices and vanilla all nicely integrated. Medium bodied with high acidity, medium structure, mineral and earthy with good depth of flavour and medium finish. Very good effort from the small island of Sikinos in the Cyclades.

An old favourite but the first of my stash of 2012 Molsino and it’s in the zone already. The Gattinara clay feel is evident, with delicious orangey cherry sweetness melting into beautifully judged acidity. The tannins are perfectly pitched. Obviously there but approaching the edge of melting point. I’m going to enjoy drinking the remaining bottles

Deep ruby in the glass. Smells like dank weed, I’m not even joking. Some sweet fruit in there as well - ripe plum, ripe cherry, candied strawberry. Whole-cluster (30%) with some carbonic maceration. Medium-bodied, very cool climate vibe with zippy acidity and moderate alcohol. Stony, iron-like finish. Very nice, everyday style of Syrah, but has some years in the tank.

Moderate golden in the glass. New oak quite dominant and the fruity richness comes out a lot from the gin gin clone. Feels a bit shallow on the palate, with the oak dominating quite a bit. Long finish though. Not sure if I would drink this again, it feels quite one-dimensional despite a rich array of flavors present.

This is quite a special bottle from Gilles Ballorin. Due to frost, over 80% of the crop was lost in 2016, and Gilles was left with barely a barrel or less of any given cuvée. So he decided to offer the bottles in only 300 very special wooden cases with special labels.

This was the only white in the case.

Unfortunately, this was completely brown and heavily oxidized. Such a shame.

This was noticeably more oaky than a 2021 East Bench from the same producer had recently, but still there was some nice, pure red raspberry fruit behind all the burning cannabis-scented American oak. This was a crowd pleaser with BBQ ribs and will likely improve with a couple more years time for the oak to integrate.

Very tight and lean. It initially shows more PYCM than Aligoté, even if it doesn't have as much flinty reduction as his wines sometimes show.
Lemon and flint are the most predominant notes in this wine, but I lack a bit of depth. It's an easy entry into experiencing the PYCM style, and excels at that.
I reckon it'd do well with some more age.

Pale lemon green in the glass, almost water-like. Notes of citrus fruit dominate, but showing some light whiffs of kerosene already. Quite strange for a 2023 vintage, but I don’t mind it. Steely on the palate, lightning-like acidity and low abv. Champagne yeast used.

This is what grower Champagne is about to me! Plenty of both intensity and power, even if it isn't too toasty. The aging sur lattes isn't too long, which keeps a remarkable freshness in the wine, but it's not sour or boring like many other small grower wines (looking at you, Elise Bougy).
The profile is all about red berry fruit and a rush of zesty acidity, plenty power to keep it all interesting. It's drinking well now, but will probably age well.

Light medium golden colour. Floral notes, pear, melon, vanilla tart, light spice, and light smoke, with fresh acidity and superb length. Medium-bodied and well balanced, with a lightly creamy texture and discrete, well-integrated oak. Quite lovely. Drink now and over the next six or seven years. 90(+)

The 2021 Polish Hill needs an hour to open up to fresh fruit, peach, mango, lime, apple, and some gasoline, supported by underlying minerality, with great, fresh acidity, and superb length. Medium-bodied and very fresh, with great concentration and great persistence. Drink now (with aeration) and over the next 10(+) years.

Previously tasted almost three years ago at the winery, this wine is showing quite well. Not as intensely tropical on the nose, but more balanced with white pineapple, citrus and apple and a slate/mineral quality. A bit above medium bodied with peach, pineapple and apple the primary flavors initially with lemon and other citrus notes behind providing both contrast as well as a juiciness. Depth is very good and along with the citrus, there's acidity providing structure and length through the finish. Develops more depth as it warms, but the citrus and acidity do keep pace nicely. Still think it shows best chilled which allows the citrus notes and white fruit qualities to play off the richer notes more effectively. Clearly has a number of years ahead of it, so I may wait on my next bottle until Q2 2025.
