Fifth bottle of six. That colour of antique gold. Aromas of cereals and candied lemons. Also a touch of salt and vegetables. In the mouth it retains a successful acidity but its texture is merely watery but tasty and with a certain length. In my humble opinion it is still one of the best Ribeiro that is made in Rías Baixas. The last bottle for 2028.

Quinta botella de seis. Del color del oro viejo. Aromas a cereales y a limones confitados. También un toque salino y vegetal. En boca conserva una acertada acidez pero su textura es meramente acuosa aunque sabrosa y con cierta longitud. En mi humilde opinión sigue siendo el mejor Ribeiro que se elabora en Rías Baixas. La última botella para el 2028.

What some call the maximum expression of the grape Monastrell, for my palate is nothing more than another rustic and gritty bottle, a structured wine full of balsamic notes and toasted wood. No manifestation of the terroir at all. Wine boring from the first sip. 15.5 ABV. More than your fino sherry. A little jewel for Kurt.

Lo que algunos denominan la máxima expresión de la uva Monastrell, para mi paladar no es nada mas que otra botella rústica y aspera, un vino estructurado y pleno de notas balsámicas y de tostados procedentes de la madera. Nula manifestación del terruño. Vino aburrido desde el primer sorbo. Volumen alcohólico de un 15.5%. Más que tu fino de Jerez. Una joyita para Kurt.

In my humble opinion, this attempt to soften the potency and structure of monastrell grapes fails, especially in the mouth. Aromatically, it has a mixture of notes that overlap each other. Treating the main grape differently, with less extraction for example, would help a lot.

Servido por copas. Vino de mezcla de Monastrell, Garnacha Tintorera y de Syrah.
Envejece dieciocho meses en barricas francesas. Volumen alcohólico de un 15.0%.
En mi humilde opinión fracasa el intento de suavizar la potencia y estructura de la uva monastrell, sobretodo en boca. Aromáticamente presenta un batiburrillo de notas que se solapan las unas a las otras. Tratar a la uva principal de forma diferente, con menos extracción por ejemplo, ayudaría mucho.

Final decididamente alcohólico y regusto mineral. Simplemente ordinario.

Por copas. Vino orgánico basado en la monastrell. En nariz muestra toneladas de fruta madura con tostados y alguna nota balsámica. Estructurado, moderno, extractado, concentrado en boca. Enseguida aburrido y repulsivo. Sin el menor atisbo de terruño. Final claramente alcohólico (15.0%). Me fatigo de catar este tipo de botellas.

By the glass. Blend wine of Alicante Bouschet (70%) where surprisingly monastrell grape is minority, only 10%. Perhaps from there derives its name. The rest is supplemented with syrah. 15.0 ABV. Aged for a year in American and French barrels. Nose red fruit such as plums or currants with notes of freshly serrated oak. Good volume on the palate, rustic and structured with length and a juicy and appetizing finish.

Por copas. Vino de mezcla de Garnacha Tintorera (70%) donde sorprendentemente la uva monastrell es minoritaria, solo un 10%. Quizás de ahí deriva au nombre. El resto se complementa con syrah. Volumen alcohólico de un 15.0%. Crianza de un año en barricas americanas y francesas. En nariz fruta roja como las ciruelas o las grosellas con notas de roble recién serrado. Buen volumen al paladar, rústico y estructurado con longitud y un final jugoso y apetecible.

Por copas. Monovarietal de Monastrell procedente supuestamente de viñas viejas y envejecido nueve meses en barricas francesas. Volumen alcohólico de un 15.0%. En nariz las notas de bayas maduras se entremezclan con otras mas balsámicas como el regaliz, el cacao y las procedentes de la madera. Al paladar muestra una textura abrumadoramente densa, falta de más acidez, desequilibrada. Final especiado. Decididamente no soy su público objetivo.

Quizás demasiado predecible y lineal.

Intenso al paladar con una acidez decente y una longitud alcohólica. Otro ejemplo de la bodega rústico y típico.

En boca tiene cuerpo y volumen, ciertamente sabroso con buena acidez y un final ligeramente desequilibrado, tanto en alcohol (13.5%) como en carga tánica. Viñas de Pie Franco.

Al paladar inicialmente se muestra suave, solo un 12.0% de volumen alcohólico, pero el carácter ácido de la uva Macabeo se manifiesta enseguida. Realmente fresco salvo por unas puntas especiadas procedentes de la madera y que vuelven a aparecen al finalizar.

On the nose weak aromas of hay, saline foam or baked apple. Palate shows how a dense texture, a decent acid and an abrupt finish. Lovely biter aftertaste. Have to recognise I love Ribeiro in any circumstance, at any level.

Finalmente una segunda botella. Corcho de conglomerado pero corcho después de todo. Vino ligeramente carbónico, claramente un defecto según mi experiencia. Limpido color dorado.
En nariz aromas débiles de heno, espuma salina o manzana al horno. Paladar se muestra cómo una textura densa, una acidez decente y un final abrupto. Delicioso postgusto amargo. Tengo que reconocer que amo a Ribeiro en cualquier circunstancia, a cualquier nivel.

Al paladar es un vino concentrado, denso y extractado con mucha longitud y un final tánico y alcohólico. Sólo así se entiende una puntuación de 93 para RP Jr.

By the glass. Cooperative wine that surprisingly has personality and attachment to the terroir. Aromas of black berries and ripe black plums. Well integrated wood. Simplicity but with good precision. On the palate it offers authenticity with softness, structure, length and a slightly tannic finish. You can not ask much more to understand what are the ancient wines of Bullas.

Por copas. Vino de cooperativa que sorprendentemente tiene personalidad y apego al terruño. Aromas a bayas negras y ciruelas negras maduras. Madera bien integrada. Simplicidad pero con una buena precisión. Al paladar ofrece autenticidad con suavidad, estructura, longitud y un final ligeramente tánico. No se puede pedir mucho más para entender qué son los vinos antiguos de Bullas.

Sólo hay que preguntarse si pagar tres veces más por esta 'Selección' merece la pena. Nulo sentido del terruño.

Cornucopia de bayas rojas y negras en nariz a las que hay que añadir notas de eucalipto y especias. Complejidad amable. Intenso en boca, fresco y alcohólico al mismo tiempo. Indigesto aunque en una forma sencilla. Largo pero sin dejar huella. El tiempo no será su enemigo.

En nariz manifiesta un caracter joven, de fruta negra y balsamicos como el eucalipto y el cacao. Al paladar se comporta como un vino de cuerpo medio, fresco y de un final frutal. Nada complicado, tampoco profundo.

Alta acidez para equilibrar el volumen oleaginoso y el elevado peso al paladar.
Travesura finalizada, como en Harry Potter.
