2013 Do Ferreiro Rías Baixas RebisacaWhite Blend more |
5/21/2024 - Harley1199 Likes this wine: NRFifth bottle of six. That colour of antique gold. Aromas of cereals and candied lemons. Also a touch of salt and vegetables. In the mouth it retains a successful acidity but its texture is merely watery but tasty and with a certain length. In my humble opinion it is still one of the best Ribeiro that is made in Rías Baixas. The last bottle for 2028. |

2017 Bodegas Barahonda Monastrell Yecla Zona Zepamore |
5/19/2024 - Harley1199 Does not like this wine: NRBy the glass. What some call the maximum expression of the grape Monastrell, for my palate is nothing more than another rustic and gritty bottle, a structured wine full of balsamic notes and toasted wood. No manifestation of the terroir at all. Wine boring from the first sip. 15.5 ABV. More than your fino sherry. A little jewel for Kurt. |

2018 Bodegas Barahonda Yecla Heredad Candela Petit Verdotmore |
5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Single varietal of Petit verdot. Sixteen months aging in American barrels. 15.0 ABV. On the nose, notes of ripe black berries and sweet spices such as cinnamon and vanilla predominate. Unbalanced in the mouth where acidity is lacking for such a structure. Decidedly alcoholic finish and mineral aftertaste. Just ordinary. |

2021 Bodegas Barahonda Monastrell Yecla Summum Organicmore |
5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Organic wine based on monastrell. On the nose shows tons of ripe fruit with toast and some balsamic notes. Structured, modern, extracted, concentrated in the mouth. Immediately boring and repulsive. Without the slightest hint of terroir. Clearly alcoholic finish (15.0 ABV). I get tired of tasting such bottles like this. |

2020 Bodegas Barahonda Yecla El Bicho RaroRed Blend more |
5/19/2024 - Harley1199 Likes this wine: NRBy the glass. Blend wine of Alicante Bouschet (70%) where surprisingly monastrell grape is minority, only 10%. Perhaps from there derives its name. The rest is supplemented with syrah. 15.0 ABV. Aged for a year in American and French barrels. Nose red fruit such as plums or currants with notes of freshly serrated oak. Good volume on the palate, rustic and structured with length and a juicy and appetizing finish. |

2019 Bodegas Barahonda Monastrell Yecla Heredad Candela Monastrellmore |
5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Monovarietal of Monastrell supposedly from old vines and aged nine months in French barrels. 15.0 ABV. On the nose notes of ripe berries are mixed with other more balsamic as liquorice, cocoa and those coming from wood. On the palate it shows an overwhelmingly dense texture, lack of more acidity, unbalanced. Spicy finish. I’m definitely not your target public. |

2020 Bodegas Barahonda Yecla CrianzaMourvèdre Blend, Mourvèdre more |
5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. 14.5 ABV. On the nose strong wood is completely hiding some ripe fruit. Little inspired, simple, no depth at all in mouth. Boredom before elegance. Nothing new on the front line. I probably prefer Carrascalejo's crianza. |

5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Blended wine with Monastrell and Syrah grapes, aged for twelve months, six in French barrels and six in bottle. 14.5 ABV. Aromatically highlights some ripe fruit with a poorly integrated touch of wood. On the palate it is an intense, full-bodied wine with a tannic and alcoholic finish. Perhaps too predictable and linear. |

2022 Bodegas Barahonda Monastrell Yeclamore |
5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Another Monastrell wine without complexes. On the nose it is frankly intense with notes of red and black berries. Young and structured with an alcoholic finish (14.5 ABV) in the mouth. Nothing new under the sun. |

5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Wine to be tasted with tapas, pinchos and rations at your favorite bar. Fresh, structured and quite short and alcoholic (14.0 ABV) in mouth and intense and fruity on the nose. No complications. |

5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Organic blend wine of Monastrell based and complemented with 20% of syrah grapes. Vines of an average of thirty years. Aging in oak barrels for six months reaching alcoholic volume to 14.5. Black fruit on the nose with notes of its contact with wood. Intense on the palate with a decent acidity and an alcoholic length. Another rustic and typical example from this winery. |

5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Organic wine blend of Monastrell and Merlot full of aromas of very acidic and fresh red berries, structured in mouth with a fleshy volume but of great simplicity, without depth. It doesn’t seem to have a lot of personality. |

2022 Bodegas Barahonda Monastrell Yecla Casa del Capitánmore |
5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRServed by the glass. A young, intense wine of pure varietal expression with a lot of fruit on the nose although that presence of French barrel is also noticeable. In the mouth it has good body and volume, certainly tasty with good acidity and a slightly unbalanced finish, both in alcohol (13.5 ABV) and in tannic load. Ungrafted vines. |

2023 Bodegas Barahonda Yecla Rosado OrganicMourvèdre Blend, Mourvèdre more |
5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Organic rosé wine very fashionable but obvious and repetitive. 12.5 ABV. Very simple and poorly defined floral aromas. Medium bodied wine with a fresh acidity and a decent length. Elusive aftertaste. |

5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Verdejo and Sauvignon blanc blend. Very soft organic wine (12.5 ABV) both in the nose and in the mouth. Only intense fruity notes stand out in the nose. On the palate it is a white that presents a fresh purely gastronomic acidity. Nothing extraordinary anyway. |

2022 Bodegas Barahonda Macabeo Yecla Casa del Capitánmore |
5/19/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. On the nose these numbered bottles offer citrus and vegetable notes. On the palate initially it is soft, alcoholic volume of only 12.0, but acid character of the Macabeo grape manifests itself immediately. Really fresh except for some spicy tips from the wood that appear again when finish. |

5/12/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Selection of supposed old vines exclusively of Monastrell grapes with an aging of fourteen months in barrels for an alcoholic volume of 14.5%. On the nose that same wood predominates in the form of spicy notes, concealing the fruit and the terroir. Only a few balsamic aromas. On the palate it is a concentrated, dense and extracted wine with a long length and a tannic and alcoholic finish. Only then a score of 93 for RP Jr. is understood. |

2019 Cooperativa Vinicola Agraria San Isidro Bullas Juan Garcia - Cepas del ZorroMonastrell, Mourvèdre more |
5/12/2024 - Harley1199 Likes this wine: NRBy the glass. Cooperative wine that surprisingly has personality and attachment to the terroir. Aromas of black berries and ripe black plums. Well integrated wood. Simplicity but with good precision. On the palate it offers authenticity with softness, structure, length and a slightly tannic finish. You can not ask much more to understand what are the ancient wines of Bullas. |

2018 Bodega Monastrell Bullas Almudì OrganicMourvèdre Blend, Mourvèdre more |
5/12/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Blended wine of 90% monastrell grapes and 10% petit verdot with an aging of six months once again in Allier. Balsamic notes abound with an intensity that itches inside the nose. Powerful and concentrated in the mouth, what some like to call 'mediterranean character'. Totally off my radar of interest. Could be an Australian wine without any problem. |

5/12/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Blend of a majority of Monastrell grapes (70%) complemented with Syrah. Intense wine on the nose with abundant fruit notes such as dusty black plums, also black pepper and spices. On the palate it is offered as a powerful, concentrated and structured wine. Tannic and long. One only has to wonder if paying three times more for this 'Selection' is worthing it. No sense of terroir at all. |

5/12/2024 - Harley1199 wrote: NRBy the glass. Organic wine aged a year in barrels of Allier. Cornucopia of red and black berries on the nose which must be added notes of eucalyptus and spices. Friendly complexity. Intense in the mouth, fresh and alcoholic at the same time. Indigestible although in a simple way. Long but without leaving a real mark. Time will not be its enemy. |
