11/4/2012 - wineboat wrote: 93 pointsAll of the things I have said about this wine before are still there except it has gotten smoother. I was searching for a word and it is probably one of the most comfortable wines I have had the chance to enjoy. At this price point the only fault in this wine is that I have only two bottles left. |

6/2/2012 - wineboat wrote: 89 pointsFor an not too expensive bottle of wine that was reportedly nearing being over-the-hill, this was quite good. Opened with a nose full of berry and plum. Did not decant as I was fearful of wasting too much of what it might have had left. Soft tannins, a great mouthfeel and slipping away to a very nice finish all added up to a great dinner. If you have it, finish it before long as we did end up a little cloudy near the end. Enjoyed it and wish I still had more I had to finish off. |

4/22/2012 - wineboat wrote: 91 pointsNeeds decanting time...more than two hours which is what we gave it and it opened more in the course of consuming the bottle - I'd easily give it four to six hours. Ripe bing cherries on the nose and in the first taste. Opened to ripe plums, blueberries and chocolate. Very nice! |

4/20/2012 - wineboat wrote: 87 pointsDecanted for about half an hour, needed more. As we went through the bottle the fruit emerged. Initially the nose was of dark plum and licorice. These flavors stayed around but tart pie cheery jumped in and some tangy spice on the sides of the tongue came out. Pleasant bottle of wine. |

3/30/2012 - wineboat wrote: 93 pointsA first sniff told me this was going to be good as it warmed from the cellar and sat for a couple of hours. It lived up to the promise with great dark fruit, vanilla and a bit of spice. It became more smooth with each passing minute as we worked our way through it. I only wish I had more! |

3/17/2012 - wineboat wrote: 93 pointsNothing jumped out at me on the opening. Subtle nose of currant and dark chocolate. Decanted for two hours and fruit - blackberries and blueberries emerging. Very smooth drinking wine with great mouth feel and a lingering slide down the throat. It did continue to emerge but with four of us drinking it I am sure we didn't allow it reach its peak. |

2/11/2011 - wineboat wrote: 87 pointsNeeds to be allowed to warm a bit from the cellar and have some air time. Got better through the course of the evening. Spice and cherry upon opening, the cherry seemed to melt away as other fruit opened as the wine warmed and breathed. Smooth in the mouth - silky finish. |
