The story of the motivation to purchase this wine decades ago was as interesting as the wine itself. This was the last of his stash and he was kind enough to share this over dinner.

We finished this bottle within 2 hours after opening; I didn't think it was evolving much in the last 30 minutes. Not sure there's much upside to waiting to drink additional bottles.

Popped this on Mother's Day, and gave it 2 hours of air. While the NVD is drinking beautifully with little airtime, this is clearly a different beast and would benefit from more bottle age. Still fairly "boozy" and tannic on the back end. It opened a bit more on day 2, but still a bit coiled.

The day after I realised I had opened a 2010. A couple of points ahead of the 2011 and an amazing QPR-wine. So vibrant, silky, and simply delicious. This is wonderful now and will be wonderful for many, many years to come. Decant for 2 hours.

5/14/2024 5:33:00 AM - Last Sept was my first Droite ever. Have 2 of the '15s left in the cellar. Have enjoyed the prop reds as far back as '99, which may have been their first or 2nd vintage?
