My first taste out of the bottle was a bit off, but after a few minutes in the glass it opened up nicely and some of the funk blew off... this clearly needs a bit of air. Made in a more classic style, the nose and finish make me think old Bordeaux, but the California fruit is there.

4/17/2015 - fullpour Likes this wine: NRGracefully low in alcohol, I have to admit that if tasted blind, I probably would've thought this was a Flanders red ale and not sparkling cabernet sauvignon. Tannic, dry, refreshing, nervy, and definitely something you'd want to drink with food, I think. Be careful when opening it; even though it was well chilled, it overflowed the bottle almost immediately and made a mess of my kitchen floor... this is probably something you'd want to open over a bowl and then decant that into your glass!
