1/24/2014 - Mel-o-Vino Likes this wine: 95 pointsAMAZING. I opened the bottle hours before dinner and let breath. I didn't decant because it already had a smooth palate. Tannins were not biting, but I was hoping more aromas would emerge. Sure enough, they did. Beautiful nose deep dark fruits (specifically cassis), sweet tobacco, some pepper, earth. Balance palate of dark fruits. Lingering finish. Perfect with our beef tenderloins. The wine is in a really good place. Obviously, it can age for years as well depending on personal preferences. |

2/23/2013 - Mel-o-Vino Likes this wine: 93 pointsI allowed the wine to set open for about 4 hours. It was incredible by the time we had a glass. I didn't focus on details since it was a dinner with several friends, but the nose was filled with dark fruits, earth, tobacco. Smooth palate. This actually went really nicely with an Asian Beef dish.

2/3/2013 - Mel-o-Vino Likes this wine: 92 pointsDecanted 1 hour. This is in a very nice place despite its youth. Nose of dark fruits (red and black), currants, sweet tobacco. The palate is smooth. No grippiness. Love it! Lingering finish of fruit and a touch of vanilla. Enjoyed while watching the Super Bowl...what a game....
