I have been playing around with this.

It is IMPORTANT to note that this graph does not use a sophisticated algorithm like the ones used in the CellarTracker Availability (Drinkability) Index. It is a percentage of time, prior to, during or after the drinking window with some visual graphical tools to indicate where a wine is within those percentages.

Any thoughts?

Hey All,

In addition to the info in the video in the previous post, I have just added price filters.

The minimum and maximum price paid per bottle can be filtered by changing the default amounts in the Max and Min cells.

The indicators turn yellow to indicate that the Max, Min or both filters are active. Deleting a value in either Max or Min filters will reset that filter.

Glad you like it Mark.

It's a long weekend here so I have a bit of free time, if anyone is interested in getting a Cellar Map set up for them.

Cheers,

Hey All,

I have not been around for a while. Life has been hectic but good! Hope all your wine has been complex with a long finish these past few months.

I might have some time over the holidays to set up a few cellars on Cellar Map. I have finally responded to everyone that PM'd me and to Slye as well. Please understand that I have to setup the layout for each person's Cellar Map individually. Unfortunately I can't just send you an un-formatted file, the setup is just too involved. Perhaps one day.

If any high level Excel VBA coders want to help out upgrading and are willing to deal with with my non-professional code, I am happy to explore ways to improve Cellar Map.

Cheers,

Been fiddling with adding a Last Drank column to the Dashboard. This way I can see at a glance when I last drank a wine without having to drill down on the CT website. Implementing it was a bit more complicated than I had hoped, but I finally got it working!

Love to hear your thoughts and ideas.

I also changed the color slicer to use the CT TYPE field. This now provides a much more granular level of filtration for wine types.

Andrew, Thanks for showing us the work you have been doing on the visual interface. I think this is very useful and would love to see the spreadsheet published in public forum. That said, I will send you a PM to see if you would send to me privately. I hope one day CellarTracker will include something of this sort in their application.

Hey Gary,

I replied to your PM.

As each cellar has a unique layout, it is impossible to provide a simple generic spreadsheet that can accomplish everything Cellar Map can do. Although I have automated 75% of the setup, it still requires individual tweaking and massaging to get each individual cellar layout to work properly. Most cellars only take me an hour or two to setup and most of the time is the back and forth with the cellar owner to make sure the layout is visually representative of their cellar.

I don't mind setting people up whenever I have a few free moments. I have ended up chatting with some interesting wine lovers like myself and I am sure I will someday share a glass with my new acquaintances.

Cheers,

Happy that those of you that are using this Spreadsheet (it needs a good name) are enjoying it. It gives me a lot of pleasure to know that in a small way, I am enhancing your wine experience.

Hey All,

Alex, good name. I have pretty much been calling it CellarMap so we are on the same page.

I have been really busy the last few months but I think I have finally managed to get back to everyone and create their CellarMaps.

I have added some new features, which unfortunately caused some regression in the compatibility of the spreadsheet. I had to spend a lot of time tracking down the bugs. In short, it turns out that the standalone version of Excel 2016 PC and the O365 subscription version do NOT have the same functionality. I develop this on the O365 subscription version so it took a lot of patience from a few CellarMap users to help me resolve the issues. There is now a legacy formula switch that allows standalone and previous version users to benefit from the full functionality of the spreadsheet, albeit in a slightly less efficient manner.

MACs are a whole other problem. A few recent MAC users are getting overflow errors on the latest versions. From what I can tell this is not resolved, but as long as I get feedback I will continue working on the bugs to try and eliminate them.

Some things that I am working on (a few in distribution, a few coming soon)

Dashboard zoom in on the Pie Graph, so when there is a lot of detail it is easier to read.
Dashboard Vintage Chart with zoom and cross hairs to easily see year versus region. (this is not my chart so I am not sure whether I can distribute it).
Dashboard filter last drank date, so I filter out wines I have drank in the last X # of years.
Dashboard filter wine name, to make the wine list even more searchable.

That's it for now. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions and help always appreciated.

Cheers,

Hey everyone,

I just found cellartracker while searching a good software to create an inventory for my wine. Right now im using vivino but there is no way to create a layout of my new wine fridges.

Is it possible to get a copy of that excel sheet?

Thanks a lot

Have a nice one.

Thorsten

Hello all. I just stumbled across this today. Been using cellar tracker fro a while, but never saw this functionality. Totally amazing.

Is this spread "Cellar Map" still open for use? I would love to get a copy. I did download the web query tool and have it working.

Thanks for any guidance.

Hi Anevard,

I know I am late to the game but your program looks really interesting. What are the steps to take to use your Cellarmap program with Cellar Tracker? I have an approximately 1500 bottle room. Most of it is individual slots with a section on one wall with cubes that I can put cases & half cases in. And I have a 200 bottle wine refrigerator in the front corner of the room for white wine & champagne. Would love to figure out how your program works.

Thanks,

John

It's about time for a revisit. I recently moved most of the cellar to a new room in the expanded basement. Relocated the racking and purchased a bunch of Weinboxes for the move and additional storage. I need instructions on how to proceed with getting started. Thanks, Dennis G

Hi All,

Just a quick note.

I have been extremely busy these past many months. Unfortunately, I have not had anytime to further develop or even setup new sheets for people. I still believe in this CellarMap project and would love an excel expert (both formulas and VBA) to partner with in order to keep moving forward and growing.

That being said, for those that have PM'd and emailed me, reach out again over the holidays and I will try and get you going.

Cheers,
