  • 2020 Lake's Folly Cabernets

Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley

    "Served blind.
Super funky, Brendan says like a two stroke victor lawn mower, I also get some rubbery notes - must have been under screwcap as this blows off to show Ribena, liquorice and some baked fruit in the background. Medium plus intensity acidity, lots of alcohol, red berry fruit, chewy tannins, feels a little overwrought but also very young.

  • 2013 Lake's Folly Cabernets

Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley

    "Served blind.
Pretty red berry fruits wet spice, plenty of alcohol warmth, feels very ripe despite that red berry fruit. Medium plus acidity married to alcohol warmth, red hued fruits again, chewy chalky tannins are quite coarse and clumsy. The juxtaposition of the red fruits and the alcohol is very confusing and certainly stumped me"
