2018 base, 11 months on lees, tirage Jul 2019, disgorged Dec 2022, 0g/l, 75% Meunier, 25% PN, 7757 bottles, red apple, med body, rather piercing acidity causing unbalanced. No much difference on the 2nd day. Need a lot more time for the acid to soften and the fruits is not sufficient to support the acid.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Guessed this to older than its age like most folks but my guess was going back to 2004 while others were at 2008. Felt a little old for its age due to the nuts, coconut while the palate still had good freshness and linear acid.
Disgorged Jul 2011, stored for 60 months, hazelnut, oxidative, touch floral, good depth on the nose and palate with high acid. Much better on the next day with juicy palate backed with depth of flavours. Long finish. Impressive how Egly is able to age.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
Blinded after 2 hrs slow ox in the bottle, spice, violet, soft on the palate with full tannins, approachable now with no indication of the heat. Drinking nicely now with good depth on the aromas and structure on the palate.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Pop at about 6.30 and drunk 2 hours later. Beautiful aroma, strawberry, cherry, raspberry, soft on the palate with full body and good structure. Some guessed this as Duroche while others was impressed with this maker. Tannins sandy and full, needs more time for it to soften. Bouquet is more approachable and alluring compared to the palate. Perhaps need some decanting.
