The rules were simple which was to bring a $25 or more retail bottling. The Blind Tasting was done throughout and first place got 2 points and second place 1 point. A dominate performance for the Carlisle.
2007 Carlisle Papera Ranch Zinfandel 19 points
2007 Spring Valley Vineyard Uriah 7 points
2004 Kaesler W.O.M.S. 6 points
I liked the Boillot the best and it was the most balanced wine in the white flight. The Morgan would have scored higher with less oak.
I really enjoyed the Carlisle, Kaesler, Spring Valley and a surprise on the Whitehall Lane which with some air showed better than the last time I sampled it. The Romeo was flawed and the J.K. Carriere is one of the worst Pinots I have sampled in a while.
2008 J.M. Boillot Montagny 1er Cru Blanc 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Montagny 1er Cru
Showing nice right now with spice, lemons, minerals and orange. Medium finish and balanced.

2008 Pascal Jolivet Pouilly-Fumé 88 Points
France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Pouilly-Fumé
Lots of grass and grapefruit on the nose. The palate picks up some mint and minerals. A slight wood element to the wine.

2007 Morgan Chardonnay Highland Santa Lucia Highlands 87 Points
USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands
Medium gold. Nose of heavy oak, vanilla, spice and apple. On the palate I picked up a burnt wood character. Medium finish.
