Tasted by Vascular46 on 4/23/2024 & rated 92 points: Deep purple color persists. Dark fruit on the nose and palate. Full bodied but now soft tannins. Still drinking well.

Tasted by jpcart on 3/8/2024 & rated 87 points: Very big still. Reminds me of mid 2000s Paso, but beyond that, like the wine equivalent of an Ed Hardy shirt. I thought it was too overripe and raisin-ish. My wife absolutely loved it, so maybe you will too? Absurdly huge and heavy bottle. (563 views)
Tasted by PMJak11 on 1/12/2024 & rated 91 points: PnP. Dark purple, almost black color. Syrah like nose with black fruit and alcohol. Dark fruit and plums/prunes on the palate. Massive wine and high OH. Medium plus finish. Not my style, but not bad. (781 views)
Tasted by Bobc7had on 12/26/2023 & rated 91 points: Perfect drinking window (914 views)
Tasted by ivanhodge on 12/26/2023 & rated 96 points: Full luscious fruit (832 views)
Tasted by Buhever on 12/21/2023: Gave to Karen for Christmas (865 views)
Tasted by OWC on 12/19/2023 & rated 94 points: Has calmed down a little. Now drinking beautifully. (700 views)
Tasted by tbrader on 12/14/2023 & rated 90 points: Not showing a lot of aged characteristics. Perhaps due to its high powered and extracted nature? Thick dark fruit, smooth, easy to drink if you don't mind heavy wines. No sign of tannins. (486 views)
Tasted by pdxwinefan on 9/24/2023: Dense and chewy. High alcohol. Very dark purple flavor. Crowd oleaser that went quite well with grilled steak. Noticeably improved and gained complexity (leather, licorice) after 2 hours in decanter. Not a lot of structure so not sure about the age-worthiness. (799 views)
Tasted by Collinsb1 on 9/15/2023 & rated 91 points: Drink now- has been a few years since I had a bottle. Tannins are relaxed. Wine is big, still has nice fruit. (810 views)
Tasted by Endodr on 8/5/2023 & rated 87 points: Overly extracted
High alcohol
Too fruity
Unbalanced
Ok to serve at a party for non wine drinkers (1047 views)
Tasted by jkscully on 4/18/2023: This is extracted and rich (15.7% alcohol). Dark fruits with notes of bacon, animal fur, smoke, toasted oak, chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon. There’s lots of violet floral notes on the finish. You also get ripe and luscious fruit flavors of blackberry boysenberry, cassis, and plums (like a dark prune plum). Port like in its intensity. Better on 2 and out of large Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux glass, where I get sooth chocolate notes in abundance. You can taste the Petite Sirah and Syrah, though I’m not sure about the Grenache. It’s good for what it is. Good match with arugula and beet salad (the bitterness of the arugala was the right thing for this wine and the sweetness of the beets was a nice match) and Short rib sandwich with smoked gruyere. I wouldn’t want to drink this everyday, but it’s an enjoyable wine with the right food pairing. Very polished and good for the price.

Glad to see that at 9 years in, this was still drinking very well and probably has several years left. (1521 views)
Tasted by pdxwinefan on 2/12/2023: Got the last glass of this after being open for 7+ hours at a Super Bowl party. No real notes, but it was deep red and luscious—and it went terrifically well with some excellent fudge brownies. (1767 views)
(2041 views)
Tasted by joet626 on 2/3/2023 & rated 88 points: inky dark. Chewy with tar and dark plum. Still a tad early to drink (1465 views)
Tasted by DanielJ on 1/28/2023 & rated 92 points: Big flavor with a nice spice. Very lively. Maybe a little cherry with a touch of leather. Nice tannins that yield a long finish. (1372 views)
Tasted by bugdoced on 11/24/2022 & rated 90 points: soft enough to go nicely with the turkey and sides (1379 views)
Tasted by lewisrise on 8/23/2022 & rated 94 points: Medium ruby to Garnet with medium intensity aromas of raspberry, cherry, and tobacco. The secondary and tertiary flavors come through and are quite balanced along with medium tannins. (1666 views)
Tasted by In vino potestus est on 8/22/2022 & rated 96 points: OMG! What am I drinking? Stunning! Dark violet color. Enticing cherry, berry nose. The palate is decadent with rich, voluptuous stewed fruit just barely constrained by pleasant tannins. I just wanted to drink it forever. It has an everlasting finish.I can not believe that it will get much better than this. If your thinking of a 20 year epiphany, think again. Drink it now. Its unbelievable. So much better than I thought or deserved. (1633 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 6/27/2022 & rated 92 points: Probably should have bought more of this. Full bodied, crowd pleaser, no finesse but great fruit. (1982 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 5/6/2022 & rated 92 points: Drank in San Antonio. Unfiltered. Full bodied. Ripe complex rich fruit. Quite good. (2253 views)
Tasted by jusuf on 4/26/2022 & rated 98 points: Same phenomenal experience as always (16,17,18,19,20). There is no mistake You can make with this wine. However I made one. Bought only 14 bottles. But in all glory this wine reaches the end of its top form. Recommend to finish the cellar now. (776 views)
Tasted by Tiderunner22 on 2/26/2022 & rated 90 points: Dark inky color. Big fruit forward wine with a robust body. Dark fruit flavors with some alcohol still showing in the finish. May not appeal to everyone however this is very enjoyable for what it is. (2091 views)
Tasted by Jeff_Stevens on 10/26/2021: Nicole did not like. Almost tasted like a port. (2584 views)
Tasted by jaumealaska on 9/26/2021 & rated 91 points: Decanted 3 hours early. Dark purple no bricking, nose has dark fruits snd smoky meats with some spice. Full body with dark fruit snd partially resolved tannins. Enough acidity to suggest plenty of cellar life left. (2513 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
