Tasted by Canuckgiver on 5/25/2020 & rated 88 points: Drinking very well; from rose petals and spice on the nose emerge cherry, leather and anise on the palate. Never meant to be as 'heavy' as a Barolo might be, enjoy it for what it is... (1543 views)
Tasted by UpfromtheCellar on 5/2/2020 & rated 88 points: Easy to drink (and like) Nebbi that's ready to go now. Florals on the nose with acids and berry fruit on the palate. Clean short finish. Drink at any point over the next few years. (1612 views)
Tasted by thebonnydooner on 1/4/2020 & rated 90 points: This was delicious with tasty pure Nebbiolo fruit and a really nice complexity. (1586 views)
Tasted by Millennial Drinkers on 11/9/2019 & rated 88 points: Medium ruby with some garnet edges. Quite floral on the nose with lavender and roses as well as some black raspberries. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and body. Balanced acidity with some similarity to the nose with lots of minerality. Medium length finish. Drink now. (1870 views)
Tasted by UpfromtheCellar on 8/1/2019 & rated 88 points: Nice light weight Nebbi. Still drinking very nicely. (1930 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 1/6/2019 & rated 90 points: Final bottle of a full case. Delicious, enjoyed them all.
Straightforward, tasty Nebbiolo. Drink now. (1111 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 9/1/2018 & rated 89 points: Bottle 11 of 12. Broke this out to drink with my Big Boy burger.
Straightforward Nebbiolo, delicious fruit and earthy notes. Drink now through 2019 or so. (1145 views)
Tasted by ORIF on 5/26/2018 & rated 85 points: This is a decent wine for the price point. It has a nice nose with some earthiness upfront. It’s not very long in the mouth. I’m always looking for a $20-$25 wine to blow my socks off. This one is decent but not that. (1265 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 5/1/2018 & rated 89 points: PnP. Bottle 10 of 12.
Super delicious, fruit-forward Nebbiolo from a producer I really like. Notes of bright cherry, some darker blackberry, tobacco and spice. Meant to be consumed on the earlier side, I will drink my remaining 2 bottles by the end of the year. (1262 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 3/7/2018 & rated 89 points: Nice Nebbiolo with burgers tonite. A delicious and straightforward Nebbiolo. (1234 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 11/29/2017 & rated 90 points: Delicious, straightforward Langhe Nebbiolo, enjoyed with pizza tonite. Red cherry fruits, some licorice and spice, and earthy notes, with some finely-grained tannins and nicely supporting acidity. Drink now through 2018+. (1431 views)
Tasted by Lwaltz920 on 11/17/2017 & rated 89 points: This was my third bottle of this and by far my favorite. Surprised to realize that this was a 2013 and not a 2012 like the other two. This is not complex, but perfectly appropriate Nebbiolo and great for weeknight drinking. Would by the 2013 again, probably not the 2012. (1475 views)
Tasted by UpfromtheCellar on 11/4/2017 & rated 89 points: A light palate friendly ready to go Nebbiolo that's drinking very nicely right now. Compare this to the 2012 Giovanni Sordo Barolo for about the same price (aprox +/- $20 if you shop carefully) I had recently and NO COMPARISON. (1327 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 9/25/2017 & rated 90 points: Delicious pizza wine, nicely balanced, refreshing acidity, medium finish with black and red berry fruit and some leather. Nice. Drink now through 2018+. (1360 views)
Tasted by JWG on 8/3/2017 & rated 88 points: Nice bottle but nothing big to write home about. If opened for a few hours provides a little more depth than initially. Nose is very light with a wiff of classic nebbiolo fruit. Palate is light, with some red cherry note and some minerality and acidity. A hint of tannins. (1492 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 7/31/2017 & rated 90 points: This wine is so yummy, showing off earthy notes like tobacco, alongside tart red fruits. Is drinking beautifully now, will continue for another 2+ years, but why wait? (1417 views)
Tasted by Decanthor on 6/5/2017 & rated 90 points: This is so interesting for a base nebbiolo that my score represents a big surprise factor and qpr. Great nose with violets and cherry. A fascinating combination of earth and spice notes on the palate that I cannot pinpoint. Fruit is perhaps a mix of cherry and red plum. Great balance, easy drinking, yet strong enough for our meatballs and red sauce. I loved this at a restaurant and loved it at home. Will look for more. (1460 views)
 Tasted by drrobvino on 5/9/2017 & rated 89 points: See prev TN...bottle 5 of 12. (1420 views)
Tasted by youvebeenhearnedLLC on 4/4/2017 & rated 89 points: Great value at $19. Fair amount of cherry on the nose and palate. Very smooth. I didn't appreciate as much of the bright acidity as others have noted. Fantastic weeknight bottle, particularly at this price point. Have a couple more bottles of this and think it would pair great with food. (1315 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 3/17/2017 & rated 89 points: Uber-delicious food wine. Bright and tasty, with fresh acidity and firm tannins. Drink now through 2018+. Quite tasty. (1177 views)
Tasted by David J Cooper on 2/18/2017 & rated 89 points: Light bright clear red. Young nose of cherry, spice and stones. Delicious austere red fruit flavours. Still young. Very dry finish. (1310 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 12/22/2016 & rated 89 points: Ultra yummy with pasta and red sauce, at the end of a long day. (1209 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 11/21/2016 & rated 90 points: See previous note, seemed even better than the bottle from a month ago. This is a whopping value and delicately delicious, complex yet gulpable. (1212 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 10/14/2016 & rated 89 points: Tried this first bottle of 2013 (ordered the 2012 from Garagiste but they pulled the old switcheroo).
This was a pleasant bottle, with some faint tobacco and asphalt on the red-cherry-infused nose.
Very light on it's feet, and easy to drink. The tannins are still present, enough to give interesting structure, alongside the refreshing and energetic acidity. Tart, red cherry pit is joined by a hint of plum, followed by some rocks and tobacco.
Very tasty, I would consume these bottles through 2018 or so. Quite nice. (1194 views)
Tasted by tomoem on 9/2/2016 & rated 85 points: Light & nearly transparent color. Even lighter on the palette. Notes of dried herbs and cedar with a bright finish of cherries. Short finish with flavors of cherry and cedar wood. (1312 views)

Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is a red grape indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy in the Northwest. The grape can also be found in other parts of the world, though they are not as respected.

Nebbiolo is often considered the "king of red wines," as it is the grape of the famed wines of Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, and Roero DOCG. It is known for high tannins and acidity, but with a distinct finesse. When grown on clay, Nebbiolo can be very powerful, tannic, and require long aging periods to reach its full potential. When grown on sand, the grape exhibits a more approachable body with more elegant fruit and less tannins, but still has high aging potential.

"Nebbiolo" is named for the Italian word, "nebbia", which means "fog", in Italian and rightfully so since there is generally a lot of fog in the foothills of Piedmont during harvest.

Nebbiolo is a late-ripening variety that does best in a continental climate that boasts moderate summers and long autumns. In Piedmont, Nebbiolo is normally harvested in October.
