Tasted by Neurowine1 on 12/25/2023: 17% EtOH, wow, is that even legal in a table wine? This is full throttled and not for the faint of heart. Weirdly different than the ‘05 of the same bottling from years past, this is about as subtle and nuanced as an atom bomb. Booming nose of override black cherry, kirsch, cough syrup, menthol, saddle leather, wet dog, and pine cones. Huge feel in the mouth and really tasting hot and unbalanced. Sort of a meal of a wine that might be best consumed like a port. While it worked on a cold Xmas eve in general, it was not a good match for the spicy tomatoey seafood pasta which it blew away despite the strong flavors in the dish. A specialty wine for sure.  Tasted by TannicBeast on 5/31/2021 & rated 90 points: Idiosyncratic. Decanted. Med (-) ruby with a garnet hue. Med (+) to pronounced aromas of macerated strawberries, maraschino cherries, Mediterranean herbs, cedar, carob pods, baking spices. Dry but with overripe fruit and some RS with a balsamic finish. Med (-) acidity, med tannins and high alcohol (17%). Not sure how you can get that much abv and still have some RS. Med (+) flavor intensity and length. Drink now, not likely to improve with further aging. Pair with aged cheeses. " (1162 views)
Tasted by thebonnydooner on 10/18/2020 & rated 89 points: For sure interesting, but not sure I really dig it. Pale in colour with almost an orange tinge on the rim. Nose is pretty expressive, a little sweet, more strawberry than raspberry, although there is a hint of raspberry and cherry. High toned like a pinot, but with more power and a medicinal brush note as well. Palate is medium bodied, again a little sweet initially, but nice soft raspberry and strawberry fruit, very red fruited with just a hint of complexity. Nice long finish though. This was an interesting wine, but seemed a little out of whack (too much power). (1251 views)
Tasted by Millennial Drinkers on 7/6/2020: NFN: dark chocolate on the nose and palate with stewed fruits. (1620 views)
Tasted by j.a.price.trucking on 5/9/2020 & rated 87 points: Too hot. (1322 views)
Tasted by alohaboys on 2/7/2020: Nice nose but too hot (1397 views)
Tasted by celestialmundane on 1/12/2020 & rated 82 points: Dark pink. Super raspberry nose. Medium body. A little hot on the finish. (1034 views)
Tasted by Atwellian on 11/28/2019 & rated 90 points: Decanted for 2 hours. Pinkish red with moderate bricking. Strong alcohol nose. Hint of raspberry. Pleasant, strawberry and raspberry, some sweet elements. A bit hot on the finish with a decent underlying acidity. Good match with turkey and all the trimmings. (969 views)
Tasted by Italiana on 2/2/2019: Light color, but surprisingly rich. Nicely integrated. (1291 views)
Tasted by tward on 6/10/2018 & rated 92 points: I have no idea where the label 17% abv is on this. How it was not hot, I do not know. This was a fantastic rendition of Cannanau. If I'd have tasted blind I would have immediately gone to Rhone, Grenache, probably a CdP. So well balanced with spicy baked (in a good way!) fruit along with brighter red fruits. Juicy, but serious, but easy going and pairing great with the grill.

Rimmerman scores with this one. (1469 views)
Tasted by gordoyflaca on 5/13/2018 & rated 88 points: Nice black cherry with a spritz, but too hot (1359 views)
Tasted by davidspieker on 4/20/2018 & rated 87 points: Cloudy ruby color. Eporfesent aromas of dark raspberry. Spritzy flavors of juicy raspberry and cherry with a weighty body. (1338 views)
Tasted by travelin.mikeyt on 1/2/2018 & rated 93 points: Drinking beautifully. I don’t think it’s poss now this could get better. (1544 views)
Tasted by jhanne8 on 9/13/2016: Thought it was phenomenal. Light and had a Pinot nose. Would've guessed high end Sonoma Pinot. Really enjoyed. (2246 views)
Tasted by Dalex on 7/3/2016 & rated 91 points: decanted it and gave it an hour before we drank it. Then it was consumed over the course of an hour. bright fruit with plenty of earth and other unique qualities to it. at 17% alcohol it's not to be messed with however. (2002 views)
Tasted by cadamson on 6/25/2016 & rated 92 points: Very good, lots of red fruits (cherry, cranberry) with rustic herbal/dusty elements. Commanding presence and a long finish. (2061 views)
 Tasted by Euge67 on 6/5/2016 & rated 93 points: A distanza di 2 mesi e 1/2 confermo le impressioni.
(2082 views)
Tasted by Ludi on 5/2/2016 & rated 93 points: Rubino.
Tasted by urban_dk on 3/24/2016 & rated 88 points: Interesting wine, showcasing old-world rusticity and a new-world fruit profile in the same glass. Had to blow off some effervescence after popping, but within an hour it was displaying the rich berry flavors I associate with Grenache. Sampled half the bottle a day later, and the fruity palate had developed a bit more cola flavor. You could definitely feel the 17% ABV on the finish. Glad I have a couple of extra bottles to sample over the next few years. I'll be interested to see how an old-world Cannonau like this develops. (1418 views)
Tasted by Euge67 on 3/14/2016 & rated 93 points: Direi esperienza entusiasmante. (1691 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 9/21/2014 & rated 92 points: Vinoblesse Wine Tasting (Ernst Sillem Hoeve, Den Dolder, NL): Made from 80 year old Cannonau, sports a whopping 17% ABV! Rich and satiny, full but carries its alcohol beautifully, sunny fruit but not stewed, long finish with some heat. (3174 views)
