Tasted by GD77 on 3/28/2024 & rated 94 points: Rather spectacular really. I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. Acid has completely settled and the fruit has softened with the Merlot really adding to the blend. It will be good for a while still but this was my last bottle. Equal to anything 3 times the price since it was bought on special for around $15. (91 views)
Tasted by pkatz on 10/26/2017 & rated 90 points: Mint and eucalyptus typical of Aussie cabs. Drinking well. (1368 views)
Tasted by GD77 on 2/16/2017 & rated 93 points: This is great QPR even at retail prices. 2012 label but describes a 2013 vintage? Maybe a printing error. Regional nose, just working off some puppy fat. Lots to like here with pomegranate and licorice wrapped in good chalky tannins. Very good, drink now to 2021. (1737 views)
Tasted by DanCulpitt on 12/22/2016 & rated 91 points: Last bottle which is a real shame for me, it is drinking so well. Still quite youthful in colour, nose starting to get some drier berry notes; soft on the palate, plenty of fruit with tannins and acid in balance. Very good wine for the price. (2114 views)
Tasted by DanCulpitt on 7/20/2016: Has definitely improved over the last three years but is still quite youthful. Incredibly solid offering at the price point. (2389 views)
Tasted by immi1974uk on 6/20/2016 & rated 92 points: Buy again (2273 views)
Tasted by immi1974uk on 6/17/2016 & rated 92 points: Definitely good value (1166 views)
Tasted by FlyPig on 8/26/2015 & rated 86 points: completely disjointed on opening, limited fruit, limited finish, nose is flat. Tastes like a poorly made, high production cab - 83-85pts. Came back 2 days later, and it had improved. Hint of dark fruit, merlot seems to have softened the sharp edges of the cab. Still not great, and definitely not worth the $20 WTSO price, but drinkable (87). Use as round 3 at parties when no one cares... (1398 views)
Tasted by DanCulpitt on 11/4/2014 & rated 90 points: Dark purple colour, lots of spice on the nose, really strong dark fruits up front, nice full body with stewed dark berry flavours with a longish finish with nice oak. Really good QPR. (1304 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.
