Tasted by terroir junkie on 9/5/2016 & rated 91 points: A dinner guest brought this and I was impressed. If you’re looking for a bottle that SCREAMS cab franc there was no mistaking the varietal here: BIG minty, green pepper-y expression throughout, with loads of dark fruit and well-integrated oak. The weight and balance seemed spot-on with just-right tannins, structure and richness. With a few years of bottle age it's in the zone and poured great without a decant, but seemed it could rest another 5 years easy without losing itself. I wasn’t familiar with this producer before but they are now on my radar. (2143 views)
Tasted by jkvedar on 12/30/2015 & rated 88 points: Cedar and vanilla on the nose. Tannic and acidic on the palate- not too out of balance, but the fruit is muted. I'm missing the typical green pepper associated with this varietal. Finishes quick with hint of black pepper. Good with food. (1258 views)
Tasted by Mike Dildine on 8/27/2014 & rated 90 points: There is a nice palate richness and bell pepper typicity to this wine that I like a lot. (2559 views)
Tasted by CJM on 7/24/2014 & rated 85 points: Clear, brownish purple. Green pepper, oak, cinnamon. No acids, no tannins. Bramble. Medium balanced finish (1545 views)
Tasted by scarce10 on 6/22/2014 & rated 89 points: On the oaked side. Opaque purple color. Prune, inky. When it opened up, it went well with the pork tenderloin we had tonight. (1757 views)
Tasted by SaveWildlife_NoRatPoison on 5/6/2014 & rated 87 points: Tasted good out of the bottle. After about one hour, it opened up nicely. However, we did not decant. We used a special stopper overnight, but the wine did not hold up well 24 hours after opening. However, it was still drinkable. (1187 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
