Tasted by chifred on 4/8/2024: Still quite nice (63 views)
Tasted by chifred on 3/26/2023 & rated 89 points: Nose of celler floor and old fruit, pleasant. Deep purple. Good tannins, a bit dry, smooth, nice progression. Background fruit. Depth with spice, more. Very nice. (114 views)
Tasted by biggie on 6/11/2018 & rated 90 points: In a PInot Noir glass (root day) Delicate nose of dried rose petals, dried cherries, fennel, crushed dry leaves. Colour is showing some signs of maturity (reddish brick in colour). Dry with some over mature plum, dried cherry, and a touch of fig on the palate. Med + acidity and med tannins (still not fully resolved). The tannins add a nice bite and keeps this wine alive. Finish is dried fruit. Went very well with mild Italian sausages, Parmesan polenta and baked fennel (869 views)
Tasted by spidersva on 6/3/2016 & rated 86 points: Eh. (992 views)
Tasted by jkwatson on 11/21/2015 & rated 78 points: Terrible. Maybe flawed, maybe just easy over the hill. (1149 views)
Tasted by BHP1994 on 7/1/2013 & rated 86 points: Dark and dusty. Pencil lead. Some faint blackberry in there somewhere. Acids seem a bit out of balance. Just OK. (2269 views)
Tasted by hitechnomad on 4/6/2013 & rated 88 points: good but no bargain (2290 views)
Tasted by hitechnomad on 9/21/2012 & rated 88 points: simpler than I'd hope. good juice but not much going on in the finish or bouquet (2353 views)
Tasted by Atwellian on 8/30/2012 & rated 86 points: Dark purple red. Got the graphite and cedar pencil box again. Wine is focused, intense. Nicely bitter, short/moderate finish. Good (2286 views)
Tasted by drdecanto on 5/22/2012 & rated 84 points: Well this sucked. Hollow. Tobacco and hollow. there's nothing here and it's not cheap. i bought this from Garagiste. Jon's palate resonates with mine about 5% of the time. this was not one of those times. (2411 views)
Tasted by MuffyMan on 4/24/2012 & rated 87 points: Deep, dark purple. Nose of crushed dark fruits - boysenberry and cassis. Dark fruits, wrapped in tar and tobacco, with a nice underpinning of acidity. A complex mouthful. (1641 views)
Tasted by Atwellian on 2/9/2012 & rated 88 points: Chocolate, black fruit, pencil box (first wine I've used that descriptor on, but I couldn't shake the term). Ei got leather. Good structure, nice finish. (1402 views)
Tasted by jayw on 1/27/2012 & rated 87 points: Blueberry, briar wood, and chocolate; salami on the finish. Fragrant nose. Fairly good balance, though on the acidic side. Drink quickly, as seven hours later it was not drinking nearly as well. (1312 views)
