Tasted by iamandyc on 8/12/2023 & rated 94 points: Still singing at 16 years. I would drink now rather than hold as I don't seeing it getting better and risk the fruit fading. Nice balance and long finish. Secondary notes are there and this just drinks beautifully. (401 views)
Tasted by kend707 on 8/12/2021 & rated 93 points: Still showing lots of charm. Loads of red fruit and well integrated tannins. No rough edges. should be a crowd pleaser for at least another 4 years. (551 views)
Tasted by iamandyc on 8/3/2020 & rated 93 points: Drinking young! Iron fisted dark fruited cab. Softened some over two hours. Long finish. Tannins are a bit edgy. Good with food. Lots of life left. (959 views)
Tasted by walkerjfw on 5/3/2017 & rated 90 points: Kickoff Dinner for Gary's Birthday Week in Napa....! (Press, St. Helena): Second red of the evening, drank after/next to the 07 Chanceux.

Dark core garnet/purple color, mild separation. Nose of black fruits, currants. Plate of dark fruit, cherries. spices, cedar. Medium body, some oak through the mid palate. Nice wine, not exceptional (in my view), there would be better choices for 07 vintage, but drinking well now. (2475 views)
Tasted by EMTAME on 7/1/2016 & rated 92 points: I really like Bressler cabs. There's a great core of dark fruit here but also a real sense of class and refinement. Fantastic. (2397 views)
Tasted by Winetex on 4/21/2013: 91+ (5083 views)
Tasted by Big S on 10/7/2012 & rated 93 points: absolutely dlightful wine. Very balanced with a hint of chocolate. Great nose and color. I split a case and now I wish that I had 6 more. (5200 views)
Tasted by ListenToMeWine on 3/18/2012 & rated 91 points: Good effort, but give the hype of the 2007 vintage this was just above average at best. Elegant, with structure but I was left wanting more (5617 views)
Tasted by VinoDiver on 1/29/2012 & rated 92 points: A beautifully crafted, light bodied, feminine cabernet blend (79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 7%, Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot). This wine has an amazing nose and soft, silky tannins with a medium length finish. This paired very well with food and was enjoyed over 2 nights with similar notes. (4745 views)
Tasted by tomandlu on 12/27/2011 & rated 92 points: Decanted and consumed over two hours. Intense, almost opaque red-purple fading lightly at the rim. Bright fruit, some tar, and obvious vanilla on the nose. Beautifully balanced and deep on the palate with good fruit and acidity, ripe tannin and richness. Moderate finish. This is a delicious wine in a very California fruit-forward style that never gets cloying. Lovely, but completely out-classed by the 2007 Cayuse Camapelo that accompanied it. (4650 views)
Tasted by Jeff Leve on 9/25/2011 & rated 91 points: Deep in color, with smoke, vanilla, blackberry, licorice, black cherry and coffee bean aromatics. This rich, ripe, round wine produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is already drinking well. (3094 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
