Tasted by winejnky on 4/26/2024 & rated 91 points: If you like a bigger (but not over the top) Cali Chardonnay this is one to look for. Great QPR. See my other notes for more details. (56 views)
Tasted by loj on 2/18/2024 & rated 85 points: Over-oaked, to my palette. (74 views)
Tasted by winejnky on 2/14/2024 & rated 91 points: Such a steal in my view at $12; full-bodied Chardonnay with ripe melon and pineapple flavors and enough acidity to provide some uplift and hold it together. (56 views)
Tasted by winejnky on 1/8/2024 & rated 90 points: My judgment is swayed by the 11.50/bottle price point I paid, but even still this is a fantastic value Chardonnay IMO. Melon, lemon, lychee, minerality, mellow acidity and a long, warm baked apple pie finish. (95 views)
Tasted by Stanrocks on 11/19/2023 & rated 88 points: 88/89

Alongside the Kutch Sonoma, this one is 14.5 alcohol and you can tell, tasting acid structure regarding nice Jackson s book

Pale/med lemon, green hue

Nose is much riper with melon, lots of ripe melon, peach, pear, etc... very PGrigioesque

Palate is ripe attack, bold sweet feel, m acid, med+ length, oily and fat compared to number one, again enveloping acidity but creamier ... maybe a bit of RS 4/5 gr

a bit heavy, it's not as good as older vintages tasted recently (172 views)

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
