2012 Failla Pinot Noir Vivien (USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast) 5/22/2024BernieMSY93

Dark brick red color; sweet raisin nose.

The primary fruit has largely faded, leaving lots of interesting secondary and tertiary notes of leather, roast meat, tar and loam. There is still a bit of tonic structure, and an interesting finish lingers on for some time. It’s a good effort, and while I think it’s nearing the end of its optimal drinking window, it may provide a few more years of interesting development. (29 views)

2002 Failla Syrah Estate Vineyard (USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast) 5/18/2024PIntag

This was a weird combination of high VA and soupy, savory fruit. No notes here, so not sure what this was like in its youth, but it's not very good now. Didn't really show "aged", just weird. I really couldn't enjoy this, so I dumped it. Tasted over 2 days without any change. (22 views)

2019 Failla Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast (USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast) 5/17/2024ONEFIVE

Ruby red fruit, juicy and bright. A touch of cranberry, cherry, blackberry, and almost a bit of grapefruit.
Full body, med acid, low tannin.
This is a nice Pinot, no doubt. But would be awesome with a little more structure.
Can’t complain, one of Cali’s best old world leaning producers. Drink now. (50 views)

2010 Failla Viognier Alban Estate Vineyard (USA, California, Central Coast, Edna Valley) 5/10/2024DwightSchrute92

Cellared at 64-72deg. Cork deteriorating. No decant. Golden Yellow color and clear. A lot of yeastiness on the nose, flowers and peaches. A concerning acid shock on the first sip, but then integrated and smooth thereafter. Peaches and honeysuckle shine, some tropical fruit too. Some oakiness in there. Overall very good, but I suspect this wine or my bottle at least, is sunsetting. Enjoy now! (31 views)

2020 Failla Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard (USA, California, North Coast, Anderson Valley) 5/12/2024yatchisin92

Still a baby, as others have noted--if you have any, hold. Did open up over the course of the evening and smoothed out its tougher tannins. Big, dark cherry fruit, baking spice, long finish. (90 views)

2018 Failla Pinot Noir Chehalem Mountain Vineyard Chehalem Mountains (USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Chehalem Mountains) 5/10/2024shorty0192

This Pinot displays many of the qualities I love about Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. Red and blue fruit, spice and earth combine for a multidimensional treat. (97 views)

Palestraw color;Tropical fruit nose.
Beautifully balance. Luscious mango, guava, passionfruit flavors upfront underscored by moderate acidity. No discernible oak, which is a positive I my book. Quite Delicious (92 views)

2018 Failla Syrah Estate Vineyard (USA, California, Sonoma County, Fort Ross - Seaview) 5/8/2024WineGuyX91

No decant. Beautiful nose of grilled black cherries, grilled rosemary and thyme switches, black pepper, and meat. Medium-bodied, this is high-toned with excellent acidity. Black cherries, cranberry, pomegranate and rust on the palate. This is quite high-toned and acidic for me, I was hoping for a bit more richness and depth of flavor. Drink now. 91 (109 views)

2016 Failla Syrah Hudson Vineyard (USA, California, Napa Valley) 5/7/2024dlduchon87

Nice tangy, leaner style (which I enjoy) Syrah. Simple Syrah flavors. 14.2° alcohol but tastes like it would be 12.8°. Somewhat Short, clipped finish. (90 views)
