In order to cleanse our palates of the swill that previously assaulted it we purchases and split this bottle afterward.

  • 2006 Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall Napa Valley - USA, California, Napa Valley
    WIML93

Tasted December 19, 2009. Purchased from a local wine list.

Opened and decanted through a Vinturi into a wide bottom decanter and served immediately. Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of licorice, currants, black cherries, soap stone and a bit of spice. Flavors of currants, berries, Bing cherries and a dash of plums on the medium finish. Good acidity, tannins and body. Needs more time in bottle obviously but well balanced and fairly aromatic and tasty with a decant. I'd hold. (93 pts.)
